FAQ
What materials do you use?
D&S perfumes are always made with high quality perfumery materials - these are essential oils, resins, absolutes, aroma chemicals, and tinctures. We do not use pre-made fragrance oils.
Should I let my perfume macerate?
Your fragrance was fully macerated before it was bottled, but you may find that oil perfumes in particular do change as they age and oxygenate. They may deepen as the top notes become less potent. The change should not be drastic, and is a natural part of the perfume molecules being exposed to oxygen.
What solvents do you use?
Dipropylene glycol, benzyl benzoate, and ethanol for alcohol based fragrances. In terms of carriers, for oil based fragrances you will find a combination of dipropylene glycol, sweet almond oil, or jojoba oil. This will be listed on the perfume's ingredients. Alcohol based fragrances are diluted in denatured 200 proof ethanol.
